Tour program

Day 1

Check in at the Zorg & Hoop airport at the SLM / GUMAIR hangar at 10.00 h. Departure by plane at 11.00 h. to Fungu island. The journey takes about 50 minutes. On arrival at the island, you will be shown to the TAMANUA / GONINI / LOLOPASI eco-lodge. The guide will show you around the place. You are free till lunch time to relax or swim. Lunch is served at the lodge. In the late afternoon, you will visit the Manarivallen, where you can take a refreshing bath. After diner, the guide informs you about the Central Suriname Nature Reserve and the maroon culture.

Day 2
Early in the morning, you will depart, equipped with a lunchbox and flask, to the Voltzberg. The hike takes about 3 hours. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna. Rest in the base camp at the foot of the mountain. The trip continues with climbing the top of the mountain (± 240 m), from where you have a magnificent view over the forest canopy. After lunch you hike back to the riverside. You can take a relaxing bath in the Anjumaravallen. Diner is served in the lodge.

Day 3
In the morning, you will take an educational hike to the Moedervallen. If possible, swimming is allowed at the Lolopasi beach. You will lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, you hike around Fungu island. The guide learns you more about the flora and fauna of the Raleigvallen. Optional: a sparkling musical dance evening, performed by our own Raleighboys.

Day 4
After breakfast, you depart by open dugout canoe, downstream the Coppename river, to Witagron. The guide takes you on a short tour through the Kwinti maroon village, situated along the riverbank.
